Oval ftw!  I have an oval, it looks larger than rounds of the same size. Just think it’s so pretty and not as commonly seen as round. But both are gorgeous styles. Never met an ugly halo!

    I didn’t vote. 😜

Both styles can be lovely. I wanted an oval halo because it’s unique (I don’t know a single person with one) and a bit cheaper than rounds for larger sized stones. However, my ring is a round halo because I found rounds to be more flattering on my finger.

I have a round halo and I absolutely love it. My sister has an oval halo and it is beautiful too. It’s really a matter of what stone shape you like and what looks good on your finger. So Im going to vote for round because that’s my favorite shape. Ovals can be difficult to buy especially online. You have to worry about them showing more color, getting the oval shape you want and learning about length to width ratios, and of course the dreaded bow tie. Ovals are for sure more unique, but make sure you do your homework.

dannii1988:  I voted oval as I have one myself and think it’s such beautiful halo shape. I think rounds can sometimes look too chunky with a halo, especially with larger stones. I prefer round stones in solitaire settings. My reasons for choosing an oval stone was that it complimented my finger shape very well, it’s a little bit different (everyone I know has round solitaires), it faces up larger and it’s just so feminine.

I voted oval, too. Of course, Im also biased since I have one myself. But I love the antique-y charm of the oval. And the sparkle is TDF! Plus, the cut of the oval makes the stone carat look larger than it truly is.

Also, RBs are nice but kinda boring. Most people seem to have RBs, so I wanted something more stylized.

dannii1988:  I chose a round halo. I feel like with the round you get the most amount of sparkle and I thought I wouldn’t get as tired of it.

I tried on a few other shapes and never really liked anything but the round or an elongated cushion on my hand. I tried on a few ovals but something in the cut just wasn’t doing it for me in person. I ultimately chose a round.
