I had so much help on this website so I just wanted to post a real photo of the new diamond cut oval from haro gem. I went to see them in person to compare the brilliant, diamond, and crushed ice cut. There is a reason so many jewellers counsel against the crushed ice. While I liked some of the photos on here and on Instagram of the crushed ice I immediately changed my mind when I saw them in person. I think you can get away with it if the stone is small and surrounded by pave, but otherwise to me it honestly looked a bit plastic (although I understand some people may just like the crushed ice look).
comparing the brilliant to the diamond I can’t say they were super different, but the diamond cut to me looked more diamond like. It has more facets so you get less of the really bright flahes of fire. If you want to go for fancy shapes I would definitely recommend Haro, they have really experimented since the stones came off patent, and come up with amazing cuts.
Centre stone is 9×6.5, so about 2 carats, with two 0.4 side stones. Moissanites are inherently a little less white (especially in natural light), so I posted a picture in what I consider to be an “unflattering” light to give an honest sense. I went with Raven in LA, but I also loved the stuff at Ring Come True in Toronto (where I actually saw the stones).
