Just stating that no, it doesnt, so “thats why people think that”. If someone wants an actual flush band that gap would still bother them.

I think a 2.5 on a size 6.5/7 is amazing but I prefer bigger ! If you are slightly concerned go with a 2 carat that way it’s JUST RIGHT. Also you won’t really know until you get the stone in. Online images and videos are helpful but your eye is the best judge of size and bow tie.

    also OVAL alllll the way

Here is a better pic of my original band it does sit flush, the bezel band originally posted is thicker then my ering band is why the small gap. Hope this helps to show a band can sit flush.  jillian1234 :   jellybellynelly :

I voted for oval but I am definitely partial to them. They are my favorite.

As far as being too big, I don’t think 2.5ct on a size 7 finger is too big. I have a 2.3ct diamond on a size 4.75 finger. However, in all honesty, I see rings on here that are 1ct ovals and they look gorgeous to me! I don’t really see the size difference through pictures.

I DO get unsolicited comments on how “big” my diamond is from people in real life, usually the older generation. My ring isn’t crazy big or anything, and it definitely isn’t out of the current norms for this area but people are always going to have their own opinions. It doesn’t bother me and I don’t think you should let what other people think of you or your ring interfere with getting what you want. You do you girl and enjoy it! Congrats on your future engagement!

2.5 is pretty large on any sized finger. Definitely just try some on. If you really want to, order a cheap CZ ring with similar sized stone off etsy or amazon, and see what you think of the size. Size is a really personal preference! I would find that size completely overwhelming, but if you like it then you wear it!

jillian1234 :  just curious if you decided on you stone or not. I also just received my wedding band and wanted to show you that it sits flush with my oval ering. It really depends on how the stone is set but you can have an oval with a flush band. Goodluck and hope to get an update!

August vintage have a line of patented oval cuts that IMO are amazing. They don’t have that bow tie effect and there’s more reflections and flashes and bigger chunks of sparkle in the sunlight. If I was going oval I would only go for one through them cos I hate the bow tie effect. I think they also do lab diamonds too
