Hello Bees! I’ve been lurking the engagement ring boards for a while now and decided to sign up to ask for some opinions! Long story short, I’m having my diamond put into a different setting. I liked the ring setting we originally went with but after many, many hours of obsessing and nitpicking I’ve decided to have it set into something different. The first photo is the setting I currently have and the others are settings I looked at today. I love the look of the halo with a plain band but I’m not sure about the design on the bottom of it. The pictures of settings in different shapes will obviously be made to fit my oval so keep that in mind too. If you have an oval halo PLEASE post pictures of it! I need as many ideas as possible because we may end up having it custom made. Thank you!

I think your ring is so pretty as is but I absolutely love a halo on a plain band! So I think you should change it out but make sure you have the setting made for your diamond so it fits perfectly. I just had my diamond reset into a custom halo plain band setting in October and I love it! GL and come back and share pics when it’s finished.
I don’t have an oval halo but here’s my princess cut halo:

Aw, thank you! It’s absolutely a gorgeous ring but the gap is driving me NUTS! Especially because it wasn’t supposed to be there! I really like your ring too! It’s beautiful and I love how you paired a pave wedding band with it!

Loveeeeee me an oval! Currently waiting on mine! Really like that last setting!

Team oval here too! I have one too but it does not have a halo, with a plain band. I love the look of the one on the left in the last photo, but it does look like the stone sits up pretty high so might snag on things or bump into things if that would bother you. When I was researching my oval I also noticed some oval rings with hidden halos underneath which I thought was a cool touch. Good luck with your search!

I love the last setting A LOT but I just know I would bump it on everything. Plus I take gloves on and off at work so that may not work either haha!

Would you consider a plain but fairly substantial band and no halo? I always think a classic solitaire is the best and your stone is lovely and would stand alone really well.

Honestly I have thought about solitaires but ultimately I get scared because the stone seems like it would be less secure. My oval is an I color so it does show a bit warmer in some lighting and I thinking a solitaire would help that. I just don’t know!

I had this one but I returned it and I am having it made without the halo now.

I have a (newly acquired 🥰) oval with a lower color too (it’s a 2.04/ VS2/ I color) so I figured a solitaire was the best option so it wouldn’t clash with side stones, however we set it with six prongs which isn’t the norm but just wanted it to be extra secure so maybe that could be an option?

i have an oval halo with side baguettes for an extra bit of bling. The rest of the band is plain.

three stone oval is such a elegant look in my opinion. Center stone is J VS2
