libra12 :

I told FH the type of setting and stone I was hoping for. He apparently went to 8 jewellers until he found one that could order in the shade of stone he was looking for! The setting is custom made to fit this stone, and also to fit a wedding band underneath.

The guy who made it is named Leif Benner and he is a custom jewellery designer & goldsmith in Toronto. His work is BEAUTIFUL and he works with sapphires quite often. Check him out on instagram: @leifbenner_goldsmith

Hard to get the transparency as I am a cruddy photographer and the day is overcast but it has the most beautiful blue flashes deep in the stone.

jacksspade :  Thank you very much.  He is very tolerant of my weakness for sparkles and has indulged me dreadfully over the years. Not usually to this extent!

mrsgordon96 :  That is a lovely blue grey sapphire. Not a colour you see very often. Was it a custom?

desiderata :  Thank you! Yes, it’s a montana sapphire that I had bought loose and then set in the three stone. The side diamonds were originally earrings that my dad gave my mom back when they were dating.
