I’m 32 and currently 4 weeks pregnant. I went off the pill at the end of February. I had a 23 day cycle then on my second cycle off the pill I got pregnant.
I didn’t chart/temp/use OPKs. I just had a couple of apps in which I tracked my period.

Cycle 16 and still trying! All tests are clear so far so no reason it’s not working! I’ve been temping since cycle 3 and this is my 4th month doing OPKs.
Unfortunately this is something you CANNOT control! And you won’t know until you start TTC.

I’m going to be 31 next month. Still no BFP. Been trying for 10 months now. *sigh* My cycle got wonky 3 months ago… yet every test comes back “normal”. Not ready to send him for a SA yet. We probably won’t do that until we hit the 12 month mark.

17 months for my first bfp, but I miscarried that one and the next 5. It will be 4 years in June and in August we are expecting our first living baby! 🙂

I’m 31, and it took us four cycles of trying. I’d been off birth control for over a year and had been charting all that time to see how my cycle was doing and make sure I was ovulating. So when we started, I had a pretty good idea of my fertile window, though of course the first TTC cycle my body went a little haywire and I had trouble pinpointing my O date, so our timing wasn’t great. The second cycle I added OPKs to the mix – if you can’t tell, I was being pretty proactive about TTC from the start! With cycles 2 and 3, having both charting and OPKs to pinpoint O, our BD timing was good, but still we didn’t conceive. Cycle 4 was when it happened for us. Oddly enough, I never got a positive OPK that cycle, so we were back to just relying on temps & CM to figure out my fertile window, and that’s when it worked for us. Our baby is due in September, and I’ll be 32 when he or she is born.
Other factors that may or may not have contributed – my DH was 32 when we conceived. The only thing he really did differently was that I asked him to stop putting his laptop on his lap while he works on it (he works with computers and frequently had one on his lap, so that was a lot of time that his poor swimmers could have been getting overheated). I’ve heard the lifecycle of sperm is something like 60 – 90 days from creation to being ejaculated, so if the laptop heat really was a factor, that might have contributed to the time we took to getting a BFP. Additionally, the cycle we conceived, I had also started taking Vitamin D along with my prenatal. I have consistently low levels of Vitamin D, especially in the winter, so I thought it might help.
It’s really hard to say if any of the stuff we did contributed to us getting to a BFP, just as it’s hard to say if or how much age would be a factor for any one person (within reason, naturally! We can probably all agree it’d be much harder if we were in our fifties. 😉 ) But this is our story, and I hope it helps!

I am 39 1/2. We have been SERIOUSLY TTC (Charting, OPK’s, Preseed, Menstrual cups) for 7 months. Just got my BFP a couple days ago 🙂

I’m not OVER 30. Just 30. It took 11 months, basically. 6 cycles of charting (8 months of charting since I had long cycles).

I’m 30 and it took us 5 cycles. I had charted for months before that though, so I felt like I had a pretty good idea when I was ovulating. Now, as some other bee’s have already said, OPK’s won’t always help. I used them for three of the five cycles and never got a positive result. Quite frankly I found that one of the most stressful parts of the entire TTC process (and that’s not saying a little). I really thought something was wrong with me and that it would never happen – just cats for us. Now, if everything goes well, we’ll have a baby in December.
Good luck to you!

I couldn’t take the poll, because we always said that I could get PG if DH was standing across the street, and I was a long way over 30!

At 33 I conceived my first on my honeymoon first try. Went on to have a healthy boy. At 34 I got pregnant again on our first try but I MC at 9 wks. Now at 35 I’m in the TWW for our first try after my MC. I hope I have the same luck and get pregnant 1st try again. I charted for my first but not the second. I’m charting again now.

I’m 30, and we are currently nearing the end of cycle 7, so all I know so far is that it’s 7+. I didn’t vote.

I’m 35 and DH is 40. I had been off the pill for over a year but I wasn’t charting or anything. We felt it would add stress (especially for me) so we decided to casually try at first. We got pregnant on the first try and I am now 13 weeks.

eocenia: OPK’s do stress me out a little… that’s crazy you never got a positive?! I’m on my 3rd month trying and starting to freak out.
