I’m 5’11”, and I didn’t have to order any extra length for my dress because I was wearing flats. For the record, I knew I wanted to wear flats before I knew how long my dress would be. 🙂

I’m 5’10, will be 6’2 on the wedding day. If I was wearing flats I wouldn’t have needed to order it but since I’m wearing heels I did

@diggthis32:  Were you able to try to dress on in the store?

I added a larger crinoline under my dress, which reduced the length a bit, and I was still okay, so I’m optimistic for you. You’re tall, like me, but not like crazy-tall. 🙂

@diggthis32:  Oh poor thing! Don’t do that to yourself. When is your dress supposed to be in?

@diggthis32:  I think if dress you tried on is the same size you ordered, and you’re wearing flats, it should be perfect! That’s basically how it worked for me, too. 🙂 And, I was sooo comfortable on my wedding day in my flats, plus when guests did see my shoes for one reason or another, I got a ton of compliments! (It rained just between the ceremony and reception, so we had to lift up my dress to get me to the limo and still stay dry, so all the guests saw my shoes a bit more than I thought they would, haha!)

P.S. Do you have a picture of your shoes?

I’m 5’11 and 1/2 and I will be wearing heels and flats. Here’s my dress with me wearing heels, I didn’t have to order extra length, I might actually take a little bit out so that when I wear my flats I’m not totally stepping on it.

Its Nora by Maggie Sottero.

@couawilou:  Beautiful! Yeah, definitely make sure you won’t be tripping on it when you’re wearing flats. Are the flats for your reception?

I’m tall…not realllly tall.. roughly 5’8 and some change, but my FH is 5’7 and some change.  I am wearing these shoes:

That way I don’t tower over him, and I’m comfortable all night long!  MY dress will be the exact right length with them too…so no length alterations needed (whew!)
