I think that’s a great idea to have something for them to carry it in. You could do a cute basket of some sort by the exit and say ‘for your items..’ or something of that sort.

@missmature: I think for the most part people don’t want to take home a bunch of stuff and will just leave it.. people like me who want everything(!) will find a way to take home everything.. put one thing in another etc.. I dont think you need it

@missmature: are you doing one mason jar per person?  i always wonder how this works.  do they rinse out their own glass?

I don’t think you need them, but if it gives you peace of mind to have them, just pick some up.  You definitely won’t need 1 per guest, though.  Also, most guests will leave their programs.  Lots of guests leave their favors, too!

Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that you are doing this and I would love it as a guest but I think that there is a bit too much stuff here. It’s your wedding and you shouldn’t feel as if you have to give everyone a ton a stuff as a thank-you…they should be thanking you for inviting them. Also yeah that is quite a bit of stuff to take home and a lot of it will probably be left behind. How many guests are you having? I’m having about 200 and eventhough I’ve contiplated all of those opinons, like the candy bar, homemade jam, drinking glasses, etc. I’m only doing a small favour because of the costs and chances of it all going is slim to none. Is there anyway to could combine these things?

Anyways just some food for thought 🙂

We are also having a lot for our guests.

  • Old-fashioned English Crackers
  • Candy/Home made Cookie bar
  • Home made Madagascar Vanilla Bean Vanilla (two flavors)
  • Home made Madagascar Vanilla Bean Sugar

I purchased some colored kraft bags and I am going to stamp and emboss them with a rose and a thank you, so that said, I think your idea is a great one 🙂

I am putting the bags in a basket next to the candy/favor table.

@missmature: I got my bags from Michaels and I also got the stamps from Michaels. I only had to get 30 though. For my business, I use Nashville Wraps to get my packaging because they have the best prices and selection that I have found online, to purchase in bulk.

@missmature: I’m sorry if you took my post as negitive feedback, I was just trying to cover all of my points since I’ve delt with a few friends who believe they must shower their guests with gifts as a thank-you. I also pointed out that if I were a guest I would love all those goodies. 175 guests is a good sized wedding so eventhough you wouldn’t need to buy 175 bags per-say, it would be nice to have them on hand and even personalized if you like for everyone to take home.
