@MrsD41503:  Take out is perfectly acceptable if you’re moving! I would make sure to have some snacks on hand so they can help themselves in case they’re hungry outside of meal times.

I’m sure they will be understand the need for take-out.  Everyone’s moved before and no one feels like reheating, defrosting or cooking food.  I’m sure they will also understand if everything isn’t smooth this first visit.

Just keep some quick snack and beverages on hand.  Take-out is fine for the rest.

I have moved way too many times and always ended up getting take out, at least for the first day, so I’m sure they will be more than understanding!

It’s a good idea to have a bunch of drinks and snacks on hand though. Moving is exhausting!

@MrsD41503:  Take out would be expected if you’re in the middle of moving.  Pizza, Chinese, subs, chicken from the local deli, etc…

Agree with above. Worry about dinner each night individually.

For breakfast etc I would grab fruit, yogurt, milk, cereal for people to choose from and for lunch have deli meat, bread, cheese, mayo, mustard, chips etc available as well.

Then let everyone know that its a self-serve breakfast/lunch and that they can have whatever is there.

I think that they would understand takeout food is what’s going to be for dinner, I mean they know you are moving, I’m sure they don’t expect a 5 course dinner.

Congrats on the new house!

@MrsD41503:  I would also grab paper plates and plastic cups and silverware. I normally hate using these, but you really dont want to worry about dishes while moving.

Leave the disposable stuff out on the counter so people know to grab those as well. Clean up will be easy as they will do it themselves.

I’m sure they will understand! If you know where your slow cooker is I guess you could throw something in there one of the days, but I am sure they won’t expect you to cook for them when you are living out of boxes
