I love Ebay and use it often to sell stuff. But lately I’ve been looking for other sites to use and noticed that Overstock.com runs auctions. Cool! I decided to give it a try.
My listing fees were about 17 bucks. Kind of high, but ok. Then the next day I get an email from them saying $52 is being charged to my credit card. Ummmm what?
I email them back since I can’t call a live customer service rep and ask why I was charged 3 times for one listing. They write me back and say it was an error and that my account is all set.
This morning I get an email saying that a $35 balance is going to be charged to my credit card. After the frustration of last time I had taken my credit card off of my profile once my balance was paid up. I emailed them back saying I’d already gotten confirmation that my balance was paid and to please close my account and stop trying to charge me for an item I listed once.
I get an email back saying that my account has been suspended because of a random security check and that to reinstate it I have to fax them my license with a utility bill and THEN they will take the charges off.
I am seriously pissed off right now. I don’t feel comfortable with this in any way shape or form. Advice? Needless to say my buying days with Overstock are over.

That is super annoying.
I bought my first wedding band from Overstock.com, and ended up returning it a few days later because Darling Husband and I thought it was too thin. They refunded me quickly.
However in April (like 9 months after I bought it!) I got an email from them saying they messed up and forgot to refund me the warranty. LOL – so that was a nice surprise.

@KatyElle: Wow, I sell a lot on ebay too and never thought of Overstock. But that is beyond irritating. Never go there-thanks for the heads’ up:) What about Amazon? Have you ever sold there? I’ve never had a buying experience so I’m curious about selling.

@PutABirdOnIt: I’ve never sold on Amazon buy I buy practically all my books there, again hassle free.
I am not going to send them anything. I don’t feel comfortable doing it and I already have an email from them stating that the other 2 charges were made in error.

I have never had issues with Overstock, but I have also not sold through them either. I would call up the customer service, and tell them you demand to speak to a supervisor, tell them the situation, that you want a refund sent to you, and for them to remove everything off your account. There is no way they need that kind of info
