I’m not overweight, but I hate being photographed as well, so I know how you feel. I’m not terribly photogenic. Perhaps you could negotiate a free or low-cost session with that photographer to get more comfortable with him/her?

I feel your pain!  I have gained so much weight this past year it’s not even funny.  I hit my all-time high weight wise back in Feb., and it scared the crap out of me.  Since then I’ve lost about 20lbs, but I’m still HUMONGOUS.  My main concern is my GINORMOUS arms, ick.  I’m wondering if a good photographer knows certain angles to make them look slimmer, lol.  But you’re not the only one with these concerns, believe me, but hopefully when we find our dream dresses we will not only look beautiful but feel gorgeous as well.  I hope our inhibitions and worries are obsolete on our wedding days.  Take care!

Are you going to do an engagement session with your photographer?  That will help you loosen up in front of the camera.  Trust your photographer – they take pictures for a living and know how to make everyone look good.

That said, you are going to be the bride!  You are going to be beautiful!!  Have you ever seen a bride, no matter what size, who looked less than amazing?  Just be confident in yourself.  It will come through in the photos!

I feel the same way about my weight, this is part of the reason I’m putting off buying a dress! I’m worried about my arms and face, i’ve gained 20 lbs in the last year and I see it all in my face, my goal is to lose that 20lb before trying on a dress. So you’re not the only one! I’m sure you’ll be a beautiful bride as lilybay said, I’ve never seen a bride that isn’t, you’ll just be glowing with happiness =)

I am so there too so very familiar. I’m at my highest weight as well. We have our engagment photos scheduled next week and going shopping was a nightmare. But I’m starting to realize that it is me at this time and it sucks. I’m hoping that it will inspire me to be a little stricker on my workout routine in the next couple months til the wedding… yikes. I am looking forward to seeing how well my photgrapher will do in the engagement photos. Also remember that you look fabulous in your dress and it hides some of your fatal flaws. (I’m super conscious about my monsterous thighs and I have an A-line so I’m geeked about those being hidden away at least 😀
