Ok ladies- I’m on CD18 of my first Clomid cycle. I took my Clomid days 5-9. I had tons of EWCM on CD10, but from what I’ve read online, the Clomid is supposed to make you ovulate 5-10 days after your last pill, so I don’t know if I could have ovulated that early.
I’m not temping or using OPK’s (never have), I just go by CM to determine when I am ovulating. I’ve had no CM since CD10. I know Clomid can mess with your CM, but does it dry you up completely?
I’m going in for my blood test on CD22, but I’m just anxious to hear everyone else’s experiences. I’m thinking this round is a bust for me and my doctor is going to have to increase my dosage…. booo.
Did anyone get EWCM while still taking the pills or directly after? What day did you ovulate, and what was your CM like on Clomid (in comparison to your unmedicated cycle CM)?

I ovulated both times on Day 12 which is early for me. (Usually on Day 14) I took Clomid both times on days 3-7. Honestly, I can’t remember how my EWCM was on Clomid. I do remember I had less and was taking mucinex and we used preseed to try to help.

I took Clomid on Days 3-7. My three Clomid cycles went as follows:
Cycle 1
50 mgs
O on CD 16
Cycle 2
50 mgs
O on CD 21
Cycle 3
100 mgs
O on CD 19
YES, Clomid can dry you out! I didn’t expereince this myself, but I know a lot of the others I’ve talked to have had this problem. I would definitely advise OPKs during Clomid cycles so you know how to time your intercourse.
My personal experience on Clomid (sorry if this is TMI), is that I have creamy/sticky CM during my infertile times at the beginning and end of a cycle, yellow EWCM starting 5-6 days before O, clear EWCM 1-3 days before O. As for unmedicated cycles, I don’t O without medication, typically, and my CM during an anovulatory cycle has no pattern at all.

@Jenn23: Thank you! I am literally having no CM, which is not normal at all for me. I’ll ask my doctor about Mucinex.
@bunny: We are BDing every other day, but I think I will use OPKs next cycle because it’s driving me crazy not knowing what’s going on! I guess I still have some hope to O if you didn’t until day 21 on your second cycle. Why did your doctor bump you up to 100mg if you had been ovulating on the 50mg?

Yes it can dry you up completely. My doctor said to start taking an OPK 7 3 days after I stopped Clomid.
I did Clomid CD3-7 and ovulated on 14 twice, and 12 once.
I would bet that you already have ovulated…

@babymakes3: I was seeing a regular ob/gyn instead of a fertility doctor or RE and she thought that getting me to ovulate earlier would increase our chances, I think. CD21 was too late an O for her taste. When 100mgs only made me O a couple days sooner, I was pissed because I had really bad side effects on Clomid (headaches, hot flashes, insomnia and ovary pain).
I don’t think it’s been mentioned on these boards before, but Clomid can stay in your system for awhile, which is part of the reason the doctors won’t let you do more than 3-6 cycles on it w/out a break. The next cycle after these three I went unmedicated, but I had all the same side effects and symptoms and Oed on CD24.
Hope that helps! Good luck! 🙂
