Hi there, I have recently had the implant out, 3 weeks today actually. Anyway, I have not had a single bleed, withdrawal or AF. I have read about EWCM so have been checking CM. Yesterday, I noticed EWCM for the first time, and this morning. So I went and bought a pack of ovulation strips (see pic). The test line is slightly lighter than the control line, so according to the instructions, it is classed as a negative. But my question is, is it possible that I tested a day too late and am now seeing the hormones drop off again? If so, we could still catch the egg as ovulation tests show positive 24-36 hours BEFORE ovulation?
Could this result show on a test at any point or would there be no test line if I was completely off and no where near ovulation. Gonna try and BD tonight when hubby gets home just in case, can’t do any harm?
Please if you read this, help me, I am confusing myself now.

Yes, it’s possible that you missed the surge, but can still catch the egg. It’s also possible that you’ve caught the LH increase on the way up. Did you test yesterday or today? If you tested yesterday then go ahead and test this morning. If you tested this morning then test this afternoon. Either way, you should try to do the deed today, tomorrow, and Saturday. Also, look into getting a basal thermometer (more sensitive than a regular thermometer that you would use to check for fever) and start temping. Look at fertilityfriend.com for more information on this.

thank you for replying π I am planning on testing tomorrow to see if the line is lighter or darker π
I was going to temp, but I get too obsessed and stressed and I don’t think it would help me in anyway π
I am just glad my body seems to be getting on track.
As I am typing, I have a sharp pain on the right side of my body, can feel it right at the bottom of my back and just above my pelvis, could this be me feeling ovulation?

So, just taken another ovulation test to check whether getting lighter or darker, assumed it would be lighter, but oh no, just to confuse me some more, it is a positive x
So I must have caught the surge on the way up, we DTD tonight, probably won’t see each other tomorrow as I am out early and he goes to work before I get back, and won’t get home til 11pm ish π and will hopefully DTD on Saturday, do you think this would be enough? I hope so π Thank you for your replies xx

@kroughy89: Looks good! You are actually for fertile for about 5 days before you O, its good to get plenty of BD’ing time in those pre O days, also day of and also day after!!! Some bee’s try to get as much BD’ing in as possible, others go EOD.
I’m not sure about your pains, the one thing I can tell you is that now that I am charting and looking for symptoms of O’ing or whatever, I tend to notice ever little thing π The pains may mean something, may mean nothing at all. Once you get a few months under your belt you will know you! But your body will still throw some confusing things in here and there!
Now the other thing you want to keep in mind is that because you have a positive OPK does not mean that you actually did O. The only way to tell that you did O is to temp. Once you ovulate your temp will rise and to confirm O, your temp will need to sustain at least 3 higher temps. This is why ppl on the board will suggest temping. We have planty of bees that get positive OPKs but for some reason the egg doesn’t release.
Here is my chart so you can get an idea…
My chart is pretty textbook, but it wasn’t always that way. Previously I temped orally and my chart was all over and erractic. This month I just switched to vaginal temps and it made my chart a billion times more clear.
You can also see that I had my positive OPKs, and that they line up with temps and along with my CP (cervical position). Having all of these match is a great indication of O. They actually say that your CM is the best indicator of O’ing and also taking your temp! OPKs are actually after these.
I certainly don’t want to pressure you into temping at all, we still have some bee’s that don’t temp! It’s totally OK, but if you feel that nothing is happening or want to be sure you are O’ing (some cycles can be annovulatory as well) temps can help that.

honestly, I’d wait a cycle or two before conceiving, considering you just had the implant out. Give your body time to “flush” out the artificial hormones.
I know a woman who conceived right away after having the hormonal IUD (Mirena?) out, and her son is severly disabled. Doctors porbably wouldn’t say it’s the cause, but I am suspect.
anyway, my two cents. good luck with however it goes with you!
