Hold up. You’re supposed to wait for them to cool to room temp?? Didn’t know that. Interesting. I wait until I get home for this very reason. At this very moment I’m sitting at work trying to hold in my bladder so that I can wait until I get home in 2.5 hours to pee in a cup. My big dilemna was how to take a cup to the bathroom with me without arousing suspicions lol.

I have never waited for it to come to room temp either. So it only takes 5 minutes or so. I put dixie cups in my purse.

@mwitter80:Thank god. Lol I was so worried. At home it doesn’t take me very long. I just go in the cup, stick it in the cup for 3 seconds like the directions say, sit it on the counter, finish up my business and usually by then the test has developed.

So if you do that OP it shouldn’t take very long at work 🙂

I’ve thought about just doing it at work before but I didn’t want to go through the hassle of smuggling in my pee cup. So now I just hold alllll afternoon, drive home (fast) and give Darling Husband a quick hello kiss before I go off to my little lab/bathroom haha

@chastenet:Um… I never cooled them to room temp. HUH.

Too Much Information: I used to pee in a tiny little spice jar at work and put it under the sink. So… I could wash it really well, and if someone walked in, it wasn’t weird because I could leave quickly.

@Running Elley: LOL!

That’s definetly a different type of test! Can’t you buy some tests at the store that you pee on the stick and it takes 3 mins? That’s what I used and it worked just fine.

@PasteMoo:I just laughed at your spice jar too lol. Oh what TTC makes us do! It’s brilliant to put it under the sink! My office has multiple stalls though. Boo.

@chastenet:I use the Wandfo ovulation strips. I’m guessing those are the same ones from Amazon.

@MissGreen: The dip tests are much more affordable then the pee on sticks.  The average dip test is 30 cents.

Last month I was testing at work. I definitely didn’t do the room temperature thing, and got accurate results. That said, I felt like a GIANT weirdo peeing in a cup at the office, but I used a disposable cup and tossed it in the “lady business trash”.

I always just waited till I got home at the end of the day.  Its not like I could do anything about a positive test until then anyway.  And I never waited for it to cool when I used the disposables.  Thats why I liked the fertility monitor too- use it first thing in the morning and not have to hold it during the day.

I never waited for it to cool, either and did get accurate results (though I always had difficutly interpreting the Wandfo strips…)
