if temping orally isn’t working for you, I have a couple of thoughts. (i mod a fertility charting group on FB). First is making sure you have a basal body thermometer that goes to .00, and that you aren’t using a fever thermometer.
Second, if you aren’t getting good temps orally, try vaginal temping. This works especially well if you mouthbreathe.
Finally, if temping isn’t working for you because of sleep problems, consider a tempdrop, which is a wearable medical grade thermometer, which records your temp through the night and has motion sensors to detect when you get up and pee.

You probably geared up to ovulate and then it didn’t happen. Keep BDing every other day and taking the OPKs, especially the afternoon which is when LH surges. I bet you’ll get an ovulation that sneaks up on you.
FWIW, I never tell FF what time I take my temps at. I work nights so I have a super weird sleep schedule, and I can still almost always see a temp shift. You’re looking for the overall pattern, so FF might be more user friendly if you just put in the same time every day

Thanks for all the advice ladies, but this morning I officially ditched temping. I’m just going to pay attention to CM, other signs, and use OPKs because it was getting too stressful. It’s only our 2nd cycle of TTC and last month I drove myself crazy taking pregnancy tests starting at 7DPO and I can just see that this is a road of “crazy and stressful” that it’s all too easy for me to continue careening down. Gonna take it easy for now because it’s just too much.
Add on to that, we’ve been married a little over a month, and his mom and everyone at works keeps talking about how they “bet I’m pregnant” and I want to punch someone *eye roll*

ok but in that case, make sure you keep BDing every 2-3 days until the end of your cycle. If you didn’t actually ovulate and weren’t temping, you’d never know because all the other signs were there. But your body could have just geared up and then not done it, as Equine_Breeder :
said. If you O in another few days but stopped BDing, that would suck!

I’ll start BDing every other day once I get fertile CM again, and taking OPKs again. Until then, if there’s no fertile CM there’s no point anyway. I just don’t want to stress myself out about it to the point that I was last month, I feel like it was just really counterproductive.

If you are fairly regular with your cycles and using OPKs you should be able to track ovulation fairly accurately. Maybe try both temping and OPKs for a few months just to cross check? I temped for 5 months and used OPKs at the same time and I found that my OPKs were very accurate (I tried a few different brands, just to see which one I liked the best). I didn’t temp this past cycle and it was a lot less stressful but I am also fairly sure that my OPKs are accurate. There are several reasons why OPKs may not be accurate though. Temping is generally the most accurate but I totally understand the urge to stop, and I don’t plan on ever temping again even if I don’t go forward with fertility treatments as planned.

Do you always get fertile CM for multiple days? Honestly, our first time TTC, I don’t even think I had EWCM the cycle we conceived our daughter. And also, temping may help identify anovulatory cycles.

I do. My first and 2nd cycles the CM was very, very easy to track – starting 4 days before O it started getting more EW until finally on day of O it was watery. Then dry as a bone. The patterns on that front are fairly clear and to me, that’s much easier to track with OPKs than temping.
A friend of mine who’s preggo with her third said all she did was use OPKs because the rest stressed her out way too much, and each cycle she conceived was a cycle she wasn’t really super focused on it. And now I totally get what she means.

I don’t always temp at the same time. I just do a + or – 0.5 degrees per every 30 min I wake up early or too late. It seems to work for me.
