I just bought P90X and will be starting it Saturday morning. Has anyone gone through this? What were your results? Does anyone want to start with me?
I know it’s targeted toward people who have some workout experience. I was in the military and went through basic training (granted, it was 8 years ago…lol), but I’ve had a child since then and would like to lose 25 lbs and drop 2 sizes.
Wish me luck!!

@phoenix718:I haven’t done it personally but my sister’s SO is a firefighter and had amazing things to say….I wanted to try it but I think you need room for a chin up bar, etc? And I don’t have that….Good luck though!

That’s awesome! P90X Lean is such a great workout, you will be AMAZED how strong you become. Remember that it doesn’t work without dieting. If you don’t diet when doing P90X then you will just be adding muscle on top of fat and you will bulk up rather than lose.
That being said you don’t have to go all out just cut out fatty and sugary foods and try to eat more protein and vegetables. Also PORTION SIZE make sure you aren’t eating too much per meal. 🙂 Check out michi’s ladder it works well with P90X.
Good luck! you are going to look great!

I am doing the classic program right now. I really like it. I am in the middle of week 6 right now and FINALLY just started seeing results on the scale but I have had results in muscle tone already. I think it is a great program and I also second that you should pair it with a healthy diet. I don’t believe in diet diet’s but just make sure you are eating healthy and you should have great results. I recommend a workout buddy for this if you have one near by. Otherwise if you want to be internet accountability buddies I’m game!

i did p90x, and then moved on to insanity. i did insanity for a long while, and now i am just doing the plain old gym thing.
i had great results with p90x, but got a little bit bulkier than i would have liked. my ab muscles literally like protruded out of my stomach.

I am on week 7 now.. It’s a great program, but I agree with the dieting.. I did it once last year and didn’t diet, so I didn’t really lose a ton of weight, but didn’t gain either.. This time around, I am more serious with the diet, but only work out 4-5 days a week. It’s very time consuming.. But I am way more toned then before.. Good luck! 🙂

I actually just started Monday! I’m doing with with my husband and our good friends 🙂 I’m loving it so far, It really does make it easier if you have someone to do it with, for us if we weren’t doing it with the other couple we may be more lazy with it! We are doing it 7 days a week and you just have to find time to fit in in your schedule but it’s worth it. I’m not following the nutrition guide but starting next week I’m just going to try and eat healthier. YOU ARE GOING TO BE SORE! Oh my word, so sore! I have noticed I feel the results from one video not the next day but on day two. Example: yesterday we did arms and shoulders but my arms don’t hurt today, BUT the day before we did plyometrics and today my legs and butt are KILLING ME! lol It’s a good feeling though 🙂
Good luck! I think you will really enjoy it 😉

Seriously, I hurt in places that I didn’t know muscles existed. Just popped an excedrin and I’m ready for shoulders and arms and then the lovely routine called “ab ripper x”.

My fiance and I started P90X last summer. Then I got pregnant and we stopped, but we’re looking forward to starting it up again to get ready for our wedding in September!
The workouts are hard, but what is harder is making the time for it. You really need to schedule it and push through the days/nights you don’t wanna take the time to do it. You have to keep going until you’re addicted to it.
After only 3 weeks, I noticed HUGE changes in my muscle tone. I loved that result, but just as muckmoo1 said, if you do’nt want to just bulk up you also need to diet.
I am going to be really careful to use smaller weights and do more reps too. I don’t want to bulk up, and it’s hard to not be competitive with yourself when they’re all doing pull ups to see how many you can do! I’m going to try a lot harder to focus on toning DOWN rather than bulking UP (which is what my fiance will be doing).
I’d love to start it with you but I’m due in 4 weeks! 🙂 I’m hoping to get it started in the end of April.
