No answer for you, but we are looking at that one too so I will be interested in the responses.

DS slept in a bassinet for the first few months (I think he was 3-4 months) and I just set up a little changing station on the floor in my bedroom. In all honesty I never used his changing table at all. I just set up changing stations threw out my house. I will be doing the same thing with this LO when he/she is born.

I had a similar pack-n-play but honestly, I ended up just removing the changer and sleeper. Changing a baby doesn’t take a ton of space and it was just as easy to put the pad across my bed or even on the floor and change my son. He slept in the pack-n-play main portion quite comfortably swaddled.

It’s easy to want all the stuff that’s supposed to make it easier but truthfully most of the time, less is better. Life can get cluttered up really fast with baby “essentials.”

I can’t tell you how it works yet but we got this one.  We liked the newborn part, the changing part even though we don’t think it’ll be necessary like others said, and the shelves.  My nephew slept in the regular part of his pack n play for a few months and they never had any complaints about it.

We also got this at Amazon for cheaper but I can’t remember exactly how much because we caught it on sale.

@roxy821:  The only thing one person told us was her baby girl was too long for the new born part pretty early on so she didn’t use it. Depends on the baby though of course 🙂

We registered for the exact same pack and play with the same idea. My SIL used the pack and play for my nephew and said it was ideal. Just b/c there is a little changing station there and they could bring it up and down the stairs easily if she was downstairs doing something and he was napping.

Yes, it’s okay for newborns to sleep in. We have 2, one at my in-laws and one we take with us. DS slept in the pack in play bassinet (not the newborn napper) until he could push up to his hands and knees. One side was right against the wall and the other side was right next to the bed, so we did use the bassinet as long as possible since it was easier to put him down without waking at the higher height. Now he sleeps on the floor of the pack n play every weekend when we are at my in laws. He sleeps just fine in it and always has. He’s 14 months now and we’ll continue using it as long as we can, hopefully until we can put him in a toddler bed. He is the size of an average 2 year old right now.

@roxy821:  heck yeah (I think). We just got one last week for the EXACT reasons you mentioned. We got something VERY similiar to yours. I plan on having him sleep in the bassinet part until he’s too big than move him down to the mattress part. Then, eventually move him out of our room and into the nursery crib.

Oh and another thing: I know people are saying the changer isn’t necessary and that may be true, but I still wouldn’t buy a bassinet. They will grow out of it within 8months max. The pack N play can be used until they’re like 2.5ish….and its so easily foldable and easy to travel with (to visit grandparents, to put outside when grilling on the patio, to take on vacation and set-up ina  hotel room)
