Fiance and I are travelling to Hawaii and then California (LA, San Diego, SF, Yosemite), Phoenix, Vegas, Grand Canyon etc next week! obviously it’s summer and quite warm over there at the moment. Am I right in packing just a light jacket and one full length pair of pants/jeans? Nowhere we are going seems like it could be cool during the day but not sure whether any of those places will cool down at night very much?

I’ve not been to Hawaii so can’t comment on that, though I’m sure you won’t need clothing there for cool weather, and LA/SD should be plenty warm, but SF and Yosemite may not be. I just checked my phone and the 10 day forecast in SF shows temps in the 50s-60s (F) for SF. It gets pretty chilly there, so I would have a variety of layers/pants for the days you are in Northern California. You will definitely not need any warm clothes for Phoenix or Vegas, and I think the Grand Canyon should be warm during the day, but cool at night.

Cool thanks! I’ll take a long slmove shirt then perhaps to layer up! I’m hoping to shop quite a bit over there so if it does cool down I won’t complain if I need to buy some more clothes 🙂

It’s pretty temperate in socal at the moment. I’d say jeans and a shirt and you’re good to go. I might take a light jacket if you’re planning to go near the beach at nighttime–the temperatures kind of drop off at night.
