I’m with you there. I’m 34 weeks and doing most of the packing b/c my husband works and I don’t. Bending over is torture on my back!

I worked for a local moving company and had to go out on a pack job and I have never disliked something so much in my whole life.  And I wasn’t even pregnant.

We moved about a month ago and luckily Darling Husband did most of the packing, which I was very thankful for. What I’m experiencing now that’s very stressful is all the UN-packing and figuring out where to put all our stuff. And of course since it’s a new place, we need new/different furniture to fit the space which takes long enough to pick out the right pieces then FOREVER for it to finally be delivered.

Like for example, we picked out our new desk almost immediatley when we moved in and it is now finally getting mailed today. We have had an office ‘pile’ in the corner of our living room for a whole month and the computer on our dining room table which is extremely annoying.

@moderndaisy: I’m having the opposite problem. We’re buying a lot of furniture from antique stores, so I have to take it with me after I see it. We aren’t in the new house yet and my mom lets me stores some stuff at her place, but she’s running out of room!

@StbHisMrs: I try to take a lot of breaks. Like I’ll do 2 boxes and then reward myself with a wedding bee break! It seems to be helping a little. You should try looking into antique or consignment stores. We found some really cute things for the baby’s room, including the most perfect little table we’re going to use as a changing table. I especially love it b/c we’ll be able to use it in another room when she grows out of it.

I’m in the middle of a move, too.  I hate packing; luckily Fiance has this week off, so he’s stuck with most of it, hehe.  Also, we’re lucky because we have the apartment to the end of the month and we got the keys to the new house already.  We can buy pieces as we go and just have them delivered to the new house. And we can move stuff little by litte.

The other terrible part about moving into as older house is all the cleaning that needs to be done.  Ick!

I’ve moved tons in my life (25 times I think, if you could the college moves too).  I always like packing up the books early on – they are quick and easy so you have a great sense of accomplishment for not so much effort.  Next up is usually clothes for the same reason.  I always leave things on the wall till the last minute trying to preserve the feeling that it’s “home.”

I have one box left to UNpack, and I swear, I am never doing this again.

I moved the beginning of April. Fiance packed everything for me as I was laid up after a car accident awwh! Now I am unpacking ugh! Guys just throw whatever into boxes. It is such a jumbled mess. He carried a box through the house and placed a little something from each room in the box til it was full. It is taking me forever to get unpacked! I am insisting on plastic totes and itemized lists for all future moves. I almost want to tell you be happy Darling Husband isn’t helping. :p

Just try not to overdo being pregnant. How about having girlfriends come over for a packing party? We do that a lot in my crowd. It is fun!
