Im learning to be a minimalist… which means about weekly.. I go through a room and cut the crap so to speak. It helps as we are planning to be moving in less than 6 months. I figure the more culling i do now.. the less i have to pack!

I had heaps and heaps of books that i dont read. So i have gone to a local book exchange and sold my books there, they give you cash for your old book or store credit. I choose cash and it helps towards buying nicer furniture.  I have emptied two book cases and now in the process of sanding them and painting them a fresh white.

I have also started putting things in tubs with lids. That way when i move i can just take the tub and then when i empty the tubs at our new place, hubs is going to have them for his garage stuff.

Im sure that i will be ruthless when it actually comes to packing but I like you wont be looking forward to it or enjoying the process 😛

I feel your pain!  I’ve moved in/out of 4 different apartments, and then finally into our own home.  We’re planning on selling our house and moving within a year, and I am NOT looking forward to doing it all over again!  Especially since we’ve collected so much stuff in the 4 years that we’ve lived here.

Thankfully, we had movers when we moved and we will do it again.  And they do all the packing.
