So I am all excited over putting together my makeup look for the wedding, when it hits me that we are going to have to fly to where we will be tying the knot, which means I will have to try and figure out how to have all my beautifying products be as less liquidy as possible. Achk! Anyone have a similar conundrum and how did you deal? Thanks! 🙂

@mrs_pudding_pop: I travel every other weekend for my job and I swear those airplane liquid allowance bags are bigger than they look! that being said, I do not have a ton of liquid products that I use. At most, in my liquids bag, I have foundation, concealer, mascara, liquid eyeliner, and moisturizer. I don’t know how much make up you are planning to bring, but I’ve found I always have more than enough room.

@mrs_pudding_pop: Remember, if you are checking a bag – you can pack as much of it as you want, if it’s packed.
Otherwise – yes, 3 oz. is usually trial size or mini-size. So just buy the smaller versions of your favorites.

Ah, I always try and carry on (too paranoid about baggage getting lost!) but I really think I might just have foundation, mascara and moisturizer… Perfume as well, I’ll just make sure to have a small rollerball sample size of it.

Only GELS & LIQUIDS.
And as dragonlover: said ONLY for your On-Board / Carry On baggage. You put whatever you want in your Checked Bags. So just carry on-board whatever you need for the day / short-term
My Carry-On stuff is usually a cologne spray, mascara, lipstick, a wee bottle of hand sanitizer, and a small tube of toothpaste (incase for some reason my suitcase doesn’t make it to my destination… also handy for freshing my breath during the trip)
More importantly… I keep all my valuables in my Carry On… Tickets, Itinerary, Wallet, Money, Credit Card, ID, Passport, Travel Health & Trip Insurance Documents… Medicines, Copies of Prescriptions, My Jewellery, and any Electronics (Cell Phone, Camera, Ipad, Computer etc) and Contact Info… both ends… Home, as well as WHERE we are travelling to.
Basically the only stuff in my Suitcase is my Clothes, Shoes, and Toiletries. Nothing of any real value, so if my bag goes missing / is stolen / broken into… I’ll certainly miss the contents, but it won’t be the end of my world !!
Hope this helps,

Are you checking a bag? You can have any size if you do.

@This Time Round: Great advice – I know for sure one of those valuables in my carry on will be the dress as well! 🙂
Thanks again for all the advice, ladies. I heart the ‘bee!

@mrs_pudding_pop: Remember that powders are a solid, try a foundation that comes in a compact not a bottle etc. also hit your local drug store if needed. the larger stuff can be put into 1 time use items. If there are things you are almost out of see if you can order them online and have them sent to someone there. I doubt that you will really go over a quart sized bag though. If you do consider buying Shampoo and soap etc when you get there.
