VintageGirl1020 :  presumably you saw examples of their work beforehand? Do these photos differ from their usual style?

It sucks that they ignored your suggestions, especially when paying so much 🙁

Is it at all possible though that you built them up in your mind and nothing could have compared to that? Maybe you could share some pictures for some feedback?

xx

Can we see some of the photos? What exactly don’t you like about them?

VintageGirl1020 :   Was there a particular photographer that you hired, or was it a “company” that just sent you someone not named ahead of time?

Can we see the photos?

I see you said they had stellar reviews but did their style match your vision? Because I find that a lot the time that is the problem and that’s really not the photographer’s fault. Like say you wanted more conceptual style photos and this photographer specializes in documentary type shots….

Can you explain a little more about why you’re unhappy?

That sucks they didn’t do the shots you wanted. I’m sorry you feel like you wasted the money. Hopefully with time you will see the beauty in them instead of seeing what is missing from them.

VintageGirl1020 :  Did you discuss with the photographer ahead of time (not the day of the wedding) that you wanted these night/fantasy photos?  If you had not, well, I can’t blame them for not wanting to try to take them if they didn’t have the right lighting and equipment with them.  Did you have a timeline set up for when certain photos would be taken and then you changed your mind?

I think there are too many details left out of your OP to get advice.

Well to answer your last question, reviews should always be honest and you should of course tell them why you are dissatisfied, if the outcome of the job was not as good as you should be able to expect then you should at least get the price of the job reduced. You could maybe get a “re shoot” for those night pictures that you miss in case you feel like re doing it all, if the company is very serviceminded.

VintageGirl1020 :  having read your updates, I can’t think of anything more you could have done.

I’m so sorry that the photos you have received don’t live up to what you wanted. I would definitely mention that when you leave your review.

I hope that in time you’re able to warm to the photos you have received <3
