Who’s got a better pain tolerance, you or your SO??
I’m pretty good with pain. When I was a kid I was constantly sick or getting hurt, so I’m just used to it. I’ve sprained my ankles 6 times, broke my foot once, have had migraines since I was 6, had gall stones when I was 8 and had surgery for it, have tattoos, my lip and my nose pierced, and hurt my self at work on a daily basis. Nothing really fazes me anymore (except migraines, those still kill me, but I just take some pills and lay down and deal with it.)
Alex on the hand…. COMPLETE WUSS. Haha. If he even slightly hurts himself, you’ll be hearing about it (very loudly) for days. If he’s sick, like with a stuffy nose or cough, you’d think he has some life killing disease or something.
I think its hilarious how opposite we are. What about yall, who has the better pain tolerance?

I’m a whiner, but in terms of actually pushing through with it, I’m better.

I have a pretty high pain tolerance but it doesn’t come close to DH’s. When he was 18, he was in a nasty car accident that left his pelvis broken in 3 places and his arm nearly severed off (among other injuries). They tried every pain med under the sun but none of them worked. He just toughed it out during the months of recovery and rehab. That accident left him with chronic pain that he deals with every day. His “6” would be my “10” on the pain scale and I’m a tough chick when it comes to that stuff.

After having a breast reduction surgery last week, I’m realising my pain tolerance is much better than I thought it was! FI’s is definitely tops when it comes to pain tolerance. He’s constantly cutting himself and not even noticed it!

he has an incredibly high tolerance. He was walking around with broken kneecaps and didn’t know it. He said it hurt but it wasn’t terrible. The dr couldn’t believe it.

We both have a pretty high pain tolerance.

@GroovyHippieChick: lol! That was me when I was a kid. I broke my ankle and walked on it for a month because I kept telling my mom it only hurt a little bit.
I forgot to mention that I also have sciatica, so I deal with that pain on a daily basis as well. Alex gets more upset about me being in pain than I do.

Hmm I don’t know. I said we’re even. Luckily, neither of us has ever broken a bone or gotten stitches!

@allyfally: Ha your FI reminds me of mine. The second he gets a stuffy nose he all of a sudden feels like “death” As a matter of fact today he seemed to wake up and be achey so of course he just feels absolutely terrible like he cannot go on. I generally deal with pain very well mostly becuase I spent a lot of my younger years very ill and in constant pain so I have built up one heck of a tolerance not much phases me anymore.
