oliviakatherine:  All sorts of pains in pregnancy are to be expected. I had sciatic pain, back pain, bad cramping, headaches, occasional heartburn and Braxton Hicks that I sometimes had to breathe through. It sounds like the nurse is right about the possible causes. If you think it is “stress” then maybe try some meditation/relaxation techniques.

Agreed, pregnancy is full of mysterious aches and pains. It’s hard to know what to ignore and what to worry about, but you get better at it with time.

When in doubt, always check with your doctor, but 9 times out of 10, my pregnancy pains can be solved if I put on comfortable clothing (underwires and waistbands rapidly became the devil!), sit down, put up my feet, and drink some water.
