Also, I’ve noticed NO ONE has a tutorial anywhere for painting faux leather.
It does work… but crackles a little. I wouldn’t do it to a whole shoe!
All I used was normal acrylic paint from the craft section, painters tape… and a brush. My color was desert turquoise!
Here’s my journey!

I taped off everything but the bow with painters tape:

Then I started with coat one!

I ended up doing 3 coats… and some touch ups. On the third coat instead of painting the whole bow, I did just the bottom of the bottom layer, and blow dried, then did the middle, and blow dried, then top, and blow dried, and then switched sides and repeated!

After all this I waited… and waited… and got impatient… and took the tape off TOO EARLY!
I got some little specks of paint on the shoe, but I managed to wipe up or hide it!
Final product:

What do you think!?

Thanks! I really couldn’t figure out what to do to make the shoes more in my theme! All of my other DIYs failed!! Haha.

Very cute! You might want to seal it with some stuff just in case. 🙂

@BoiledPNut: I second this.
Try sealing it with clear modpodge or something. They look great though!!
