Hi Bees! I was wondering if anyone knew how to paint mason jars so that they’re still see through, and not solid, like the picture below:
I wanted to do some in orange, green and yellow for my wedding but I’m not sure how to do it or what products to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check Pinterest, I think there are a bunch of pins for that. I saw one a long time ago and I think what you do is pour in some Elmer’s glue and a few drops of blue food coloring, and swirl it around so the glue completely coats the jar, and let it dry upside down so the extra glue drips off. Something like that… Anyways, Google and Pinterest! 🙂

This happened to me my first time making the blue jars. There are 2 things you can do to avoid this. (1) water-down the mod podge so that it’s easier to pain in a thin coat. (2) use a lighter blue color. The darker the color, the easier it is to see imperfections in the paint. See more tips on my blog post about how to make these jars: http://heatherhomemaker.wordpress.com/2013/02/07/wedding-diy-blue-stained-mason-jars/
Hope that helps! 🙂
