Hi all,
I could use your advice! I recently tried on a Maggie Sottero dress with ivory lace and pale blush lining. I love the dress and the color but I am afraid in certain lights it will look too pink. I tried on a similar dress same designer in ivory/ivory so I keep going back and forth on how I should order it. Our ceremony will be outside so I’m sure the natural light will help, but then I’m afraid it will look pink once we are inside during the reception. Has anyone else worn pale blush lining and how did you like it? Thanks!!

I haven’t worn it personally, but whenever I see ivory over blush I love it. It makes the lace stand out SO nicely! I find ivory lace over ivory makes it harder to see the beautiful detailing of the lace.

I enjoyed having something a bit different and I loved seeing the pink in the sunlight of our outdoor ceremony

I wore ivory over blush and it was awesome, I got many compliments and it was more pink outside during our pictures than indoors. Indoors it looked more ivory

Can you post a couple pics for reference?? I’m in support of ivory over blush for the detail factor for sure, but want to see to make a decision

I would go wiht the blush but I might be biased, my dress is ivory/champagne because I wanted the lace to really stand out. Ivory/ivory with lace doesn’t photograph well in my opinion.

I think, it is good combibation, don’t worry, I think it won’t be too pink.

I wore marrianne in blush color and LOVED it!! White and ivory made me look really washed out, but blush was perfect 🙂 in certain lights you couldn’t tell it was blush, especially since the color was stronger in the skirt. I loved it and wouldn’t change it for anything.

I’m wearing MS Rosamund in Ivory over Pale Blush and I love it. It really makes the applique lace pop, the Ivory/Ivory is nice, but i don’t think it shows teh detailign as much. It’s much more flattering on my skin tone too.

I just went to a wedding where the bride wore ivory over light blush. The lace and detailing really “popped.” I’ve seen a number of ivory on ivory gowns and the detail just fades into the background.

alz624: I tried on the Maggie Sottero Haven in blush for my family (wish I took a picture in it) but at the bridal boutique, it looked way too pink and I couldn’t get past the color. Had I wanted that dress, I would have probably gotten it in ivory.
I think blush dresses are becoming the in-thing right now, which is fine, but you have to think about the overall look and envision what you really want. For me, I knew I wanted a white dress because of how it would pop against my golden brown skin, and I didn’t budge on that. Best of luck!

alz624: Have you been back yet? It is a stunning dress and i think the pale blush is pretty subtle compared to some of the blush dresses that are available. I’d share my pics but i wasn’t allowed to take any

Here’s some pics of other bees in the dress
