@DrMrsCol:  I have a palladium ring, and LOVE the metal…but that being said, it is near impossible to do two-tone with palladium and yellow gold. We’re in the process of designing my FH’s wedding band with the same people who custom made my palladium ring. The first thing we asked was if his could be two tone with palladium. They said no- platinum or white gold were our options.

That being said, I think we’ll go 19k white. It’s basically a super-alloy and won’t need to be re-dipped

Best of luck!

@DrMrsCol:  Hm, I wouldnt get platinum because that would be on the outside of the ring, eg, rubbing the side of your gold ering 🙁 I would honestly just get white gold and redip IF necessary (you absolutlely dont HAVE to!). I dont know much about paladium, sorry. I dont know if that would act like platinum and be bad to wear next to gold.

Have you confirmed with a jeweler that they could make that ring with palladium? I think working with it is quite different than any other metal, so I’m not sure the two would work together.

Palladium and platiunum will both wear down the gold of you ering.  You will need a small gold space band if you want to protect your ering.  Gold beside your ering would wear it down though too.

Ouf of both metals, I would choose platinum.   It is much eaier to work with.

I agree with the 19K comment. If you can find it, it remains white without the need to have it rhodium plated. Ever.
