Hi Bees, Bought my dress for my wedding August 17th 2013, last month on September 22nd 2013. Now keep in mind David’s Bridal told me it might take up to 17 weeks to get the dress so I figured, end of January, beginning of Feb I should get my dress!!!
Well DB’s called me yesterday and told me the dress has arrived! there was a difference of 125$ on the dress from the Canadian BD’s and the US BD. She accepted to match the price! GO ME!!!
But now what do I do with the dress??? Is it just going to sit there for 9 months? Is my dress going to turn yellow??? I’m going nuts right now! I need help to calm down. I’m going to pick it up on Nov 3rd….

@beeandrashid: I feel for you because I’m having to sell my dress (my wedding got postponed) so I don’t keep it and find out what will happen till then!

I would lave it at the store or keep it at home. I would not trust it at someone else’s house.

I’d keep it at home- I don’t think your dress will turn yellow as long as you take good care of it.

I would ask at the store if you can keep it there but, if you are going to keep it at someone else’s house, ask the salespeople how to store it so it won’t get damaged at all.

I bought my dress at DB and they told me I had to pick it up within 2 weeks otherwise they would be free to sell it again! I have had my dress for 5 months in a cloth bag in a closet (at my Future Mother-In-Law house) and it still looks perfect! 🙂

I ordered my dress in August for my June 2013 wedding. I was originally told it wouldn’t be in until December, but it came in in 3 weeks! When I picked it up it was in a plastic bag, as well as a cloth bag. The consultant told me to take off the plastic and wrap the dress in a flat white sheet that is 100% cotton. This way, if any moisture is in the air, the sheet will absorb it. Also, she recommended “airing” it out at least once a month by taking it out of the bag. No worries!

I ordered mine from Davids Bridal and it came in very quickly as well. I have it stored at my parents house as Davids said I had to pick it up in 2 weeks.

@beeandrashid: i think they have a preserve package you can buy a DB for 99.00 and it vacuums your dress into a save air free box i would def spend the $100.00 bucks verses it turning a slight shade of yellow. im anel lol so thats what i would do or even ask at other bridal salons if DB does not do it but im almost positive they do and i saw it there when i was last there a few months ago call them now there open ease your mind mama calm down!!! ; )

Thanks guys for all the great comments, I still didn’t figure what I will do, but I think I will keep it at my Matron of Honor! She’s paying for it anyways so I know she will take good care of it…
