I never gave this much thought before.
But -per Fertility Friend- I should be ovulating Friday and I have my yearly gyno appointment scheduled for Thursday.
Is this a good idea???
I read online that although it’s not frequent some people have had miscarriages after having a pap smear during pregnancy.
I mean technically I would not even be pregnant yet if FF is on the dot. But if they’re not then I can be!
Should I call and reschedule during a time when I’m not in my TWW?
What would you do??
I feel like a flake because I realized something similar days before my rescheduled wisdom tooth removal because of the drugs used to knock me out for deep anesthesia. Then on the spot opted for local anesthesia instead.

I’d call up your doc and see what they say. Of all people, they’ll be able to tell you whether to come in for a pap or not. GOOD LUCK!

I had one during my TWW and it crossed my mind but I went for the appointment anyway. I ended up not being pregnant afterall, I dont think the pap had anything to do with it.

Never heard of this. I had one when I was about 9 weeks pregnant since I was going to a new OB/GYN and they never mentioned there were any risks.

Since it was around the time I would need a pap anyways, my OBGYN did perform one at my first prenatal appt, but it was modified so it was not nearly as invasive as a normal one. I have never heard of a pap smear causing a miscarriage but that is definitely something you should bring up with your doctor, or call a nurse before the appt and ask.

Good to know that they can modify it. Thanks!
I’ll def give them a call today.
I know it’s probably me being over analytical but oh well. 🙂
