A lot of times hotels use a soft white linen, not bright white due to the flash from photgraphy, so I think you may be overthinking it a little. I have been to high brow venues like Hotel DuPont in Delaware and they use ecru and gold paper and soft-white linens and no one I know has ever really noticed, myself included–until I started planning a wedding.

If you live close to the venue, maybe take a piece of ecru paper to your next meeting to compare and decide?

Ivory, beige, white, cream, off-white, ecru, etc. — None of them clash with each other. They’re all neutrals and they’ll just look like different textures/weights.
