I am planning to incorporate the origami crane tradition into my reception. My fiancee and I will probably fold 150-200 ahead of time, but I want to set up a card with instructions and a stack of origami paper on each table at the reception. My thought is to use the cranes in place of a guestbook – we would ask people to write a “wish” on the white side of the paper, fold it into a crane, and sign their name on the wing. Since we are having the ceremony and reception in the same room, we will start some strings of cranes on the arbor we’re standing in front of for the ceremony. Then over the course of the night, people can add their cranes to the strings.
I’m liking this idea, but still looking for sources for paper – I’d way rather use something recycled, but have started giving up on that. I definitely want to stick with my color scheme of pink and grey – a range of those two colors would look really pretty, I think. But I’m at a loss of where online to order the combination I’m looking for. It seems like there should be someone who offers “pink tone” or “pink pattern” large packs of 3″ or 4″ paper, but I’m finding no such thing. Any tips??
