I am planning on making paper flowers for my centerpieces and Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets. I was planning on using paper flowers for my bouquet, but I really love hydrangeas and since I have so many DIY projects I was thinking it would be easier just to do silk hydrangeas. Will paper flowers and silk hydrangeas look weird together?
This is what I will be making for my BMs (but smaller, like half the size)
I will be making these & some others for the centerpieces (courtesy of renatastone on weddingbee)
Hobby Lobby has silk flowers (can’t save the pictures)
So, should I stick to all paper flowers, or use silk flowers for my (and only my) bouquet?

I think it depends on the kind of paper flowers you make.
I found that the paper flowers I made didn’t look very good with anything that resembled real flowers so paper flowers is what I used for everything.
I say try them and see. =)

I asked this question on the knot because I was trying to decide the same thing. Everyone voted I should keep it all paper flowers. I ended up buying flowers made from birch wood but If I hadn’t I would have stuck with all paper flowers. Have you looked on Etsy.com so see if there is a seller that makes paper hydrangeas?

I bought these yesterday at Hobby Lobby – I like how they look (minus the two different colors of flowers in the middle which I’m going to return). I’m going to hang on to the flowers below and see how they go with the Bridesmaid or Best Man paper flowers once I make them (first picture). I don’t think it matters how well my bouquet goes with the table paper flowers.

I say absolutely, as long as the flowers work together! I have purple coffee filter carnations, silk lilies in mine. And I have a cuff of artificial maple leaves for my fall wedding. I think they turned out great!
I think if you could mix hydrangeas in. Just play around with them and see what you think looks good. Your eyes will tell you! And if you think it’s questionable, just write a post and let the Bees help ya! 🙂

I might also do something like this (buy flowers for this bouquet then see which I like best).
Where to buy silk flowers????

I love the giant paper flowers and the paper hydrangeas you linked.
