So I’m still on a search for a garland like DIY project to hang over the dance floor at my venue. I started another thread on here about making paper cranes. I still LOVE the idea but the cost of getting all that origami paper was just adding up too quick. So on to next idea 🙂 Has anyone decorated with paper circle garlands? Something along these lines?

I’m not finding many inspiration pics out there and wondering if anyone has done this or been to a wedding where this was done? Any advice on DIYing?
The last wedding show I was at about 5 vendors had it in their booths as decor. I asked about buying it from them but most of them said they just made it quick with thier sewing machines. They looked so cute and my mom just offered to lend me hers! 🙂

@papercrafter: I haven’t had my wedding yet so i don’t have pics of them in use but I made a heart garlad the same way as the circle ones you posted. It was super easy to just sew them together actually! Also I didn’t want to spend a lot on paper and wanted a variety of shades of my colors so i ended up buying a heart punch at the craft store and using large paint swatches (like the samples from walmart, hardware stores, etc) to punch the hearts out of. They have words on the back so I just glued two hearts back to back so the garland would look finished form all directions. The garland turned out so cute and I’m planning to make more. It was also super quick! If I think about it I’ll try to get a pic later.

@geekspice: those are super cute but I think I’m thinking more of the circle punch type
@Whitney818: I’d love to see pics! LOVE the idea of using paint chips…maybe all my bridesmaids and me could make a day trip and visit all the paint stores lol. How many strips did you have to get? I was thinking the same thing about glueing two together. I haven’t bought a punch yet so maybe the hearts would be better….definitely cuter!
