Hover in most regular, routine, quick situations.  Paper for when you need more time to take care of business, whatever that may be. ๐Ÿ˜›

I just sit and deal with it.  Most public restrooms are cleaned more often than my own bathroom and they don’t really bother me.  I don’t mind most people who hover, but I work on a floor of hover-tinklers who never wipe the seat after they’re done.  If you’re so concerned about what’s on the seat, why are you getting pee all over it and making it unusable for the next person?  Drives me nuts.

I just sit on it. Numerous studies have shown that there are many more germs on door and sink handles, not to mention kitchen sponges, cell phones, and computer keyboards, than there are on toilet seats. Besides, it’s really hard to catch a disease through the skin on your behind.

If more people realized this and stopped hovering two feet above the seat,  throwing their pee everywhere, it’d be even more sanitary. The rest of us are tired of mopping that up before we sit down. If you’re going to hover, at least clean up after yourselves.

I just sit. I find it hard to actually pee while squatting. Unless you’re literally rubbing your vagina on the seat, you’ll be just fine.

I don’t know for sure, but I imagine most other people follow the same procedure I do: bathe, apply fresh underwear, cover with outer clothing. my clean butt is touching my clean underwear, I can’t imagine there are too many nasty germs on that skin. I just sit on the toilet.

I should probably add that I’m a very considerate hoverer who always cleans up after myself. We exist! ๐Ÿ˜›

I just sit on it. I try to about public bathrooms in stores and what not but it’s hard to avoid work bathrooms when I’m there 9 hours a day. I’ve never even given sitting a second thought.

i sit unless the toilet is pretty gross/dirty. then i’ll use a seatcover.

i’m a bit of a germophobe, but i’m more concerned about things i have to touch with my hands- door knobs, restaurant menus, hand rails….yuck.

If a sanitary paper cover is offered, like at an airport, I will use it. Otherwise I just sit bareassed on it. NBD.

It depends on the state of the restroom honestly.  There have been times where I covered AND hovered.  Other times I do sit on it (especially when I was pregnant and squatting or hovering were completely out of the question!)

I don’t use public restrooms unless it’s an emergency. And then, I normally paper.

When I first saw the name of this thread I was so confused, FYI. ๐Ÿ™‚

@CarolF:  sit. it’s not like i’m rubbing my vag/hands/mouth all over the seat. i sit squarely with all my vulnerable bits in the hole, and i wash my hands after.

I always cover, with 2 seat covers and I put one on the right way and one on backwards, (I had an incident where it shifted when I sat down, so now I use two). If the seat covers are empty then I use a massive amount of tp to cover it.

Hovering is hard for me, I have a really big butt and it weighs me down.

I once read an article for women on how to stand up and pee, I wish I could do that!
