Help!!! I love the idea of using paper lanterns in a concentrated area for my reception. I’m using then down the center with tables on each side. The ceiling is low do you think paper lanterns can be done on low ceilings? Also, I’d like to wrap the posts with twinkle lights which outline the lanterns. Is this too much? Please give me feedback.

How low are the ceilings? I think as long as the lanterns can be hung higher than 10 feet off the ground they should be fine… also I don’t think its too much to add twinkle lights! Twinkle lights and lanterns go hand in hand 🙂

If the ceiling is too low (agree with pp that 10′ is ideal… you maybe could go as low as 8.5′ I suppose, but that might feel cramped), then consider haning them directly over the tables. Since people won’t be walking under them, you won’t need as much clearence. Just make sure they won’t bump anything on the table (like cakes, centerpeices, etc) or people’s heads as they lean over the table.
