@future_behal: Love lanterns. You could do a mix of pink shades.

Look on paperlaternstore.com, they have several shades of pink and I think if you threw some gray ones in the mix too it would look good.

@future_behal: Understand your worry, but remember they’ll be in the air against a vastness of white. Balance it with the pink and grey on the tables and I think it’ll be fine. When I see pink I think Sprung rather than prom etc, though I think this can depend on shade of pink and material used.

If your FH is okay with it other than that comment then do it.  I have been to lots of pink weddings so it’s not that uncommon.  I think the lighter pastel pink with black is much more grown up than Barbie pink (please no offense to the ladies who love the Barbie pink, I just prefer the pastel.)

I think a mixture of pinks and greys would be beautiful!

@future_behal:  I think it all depends on how its done….maybe mixing up the shades. I love pink thou so I can never get enough of it…LOL

But if you are worried about it looking too girlish what about doing a mix with different colors ….these kinda look like they would match your wedding colors!

I would do a mix of different colors.  I’ve set up some weddings in the past and hung a lot of paper lanterns.  The few I did that were solid pink lanterns were a little frou frou.  I think if you threw in some with your other wedding colors it would help a lot and look really beautiful!

@future_behal:  I really like the picture that weddingbound posted.  I’d think you could do a mix of pastel pinks, ivory, grey, and black to keep it interesting while looking sophisticated.

I love paper lanterns, and so does my fiance.  We’re not sure which color we’ll choose for our reception, but we at least wanted them strung along the ceiling above the head table.

We’re using paper lanterns, as well! Make sure you do a mix of different shades. . . that way it won’t be monotone and gives it some contrast. Maybe throw in some gray or white ones, as well?
