I’d go for paper. Have a ton of them. It’ll be cheaper if you don’t personalize them.

What type of hors d’ouerves are you serving that requires silverware? That tends to defeat the purpose of an hors d’oeurves reception.

I would go with paper because if people are moving around they’re not going to really keep track of their napkins and then they’ll get another and before you know it you’ll be out of napkins. Plus people will probably not know what to do with the linen napkins once they’re done.

With paper you can do a cute stamp on them with your monogram, wedding date, or favorite saying, and then do them in your colors- SO cute and not tacky!

I would go with paper too since people will be mingling.

I would go with linene or a really nice paper that is monogrammed/gocco’ed etc.  I would want to step it up just a bit, even if it is just hors d’oeurves.

Great to hear someone else is planning a heavy hors d’oeurves reception!

I agree paper would probably be best. As well as not monogram/etc. if they are going to be thrown right away and many to be used. So, instead, perhaps choose the napkins in your wedding colors! 🙂 Monogram perhaps some other item at the wedding, like votives, favors, have your name in lights on the dance floor/on the wall, etc. 🙂

    Good luck! Have fun!
