I used paperless post for mine as well – we ended up spending $14 instead of upwards of $250 by doing it!  🙂

I used Paperless Post for my save the dates and they were great! When I was first considering save the dates, I was afraid that email save the dates would be considered tacky as well. But they were really well received, even by mom’s friends who are very old school and proper. You make them as formal or as casual as you want. I found that there were plenty of layouts to play with. I highly recommend them!

Paperless post all the way!

Bonus is that guests can enter their mailing address when they receive the e-card, so then you have them all up to date and collected when invite time comes!

If it matters, we had a very fancy “formal” wedding at The Ritz and nobody questioned the online save the dates or suggested they were tacky. Just practical!

I used Google forms. Absolutely free and painless.
