I just wanted to say, I am so sorry! My parents are doing ok, but they have eachhad cancer at least once and I have no idea when it will come back. Its a terrifying feeling and I wish all thebest health to your dad.

This is honestly one of the HARDEST things about growing up I think. I am very lucky that my parents are still pretty healthy, but my DH’s parents have some definite health issues. My father in law has MS and my mother-in-law was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer. It is SO hard to realize that our parents are getting to be the age our grandparents were when we were kids (and our grandparents seemed so old!). I still picture my parents as 35. Except I’m 27 so hmmmm lol.

I guess I don’t have any real advice. Just commisseration that I get it, it’s scary, and it totally totally sucks. I guess a (small) silver lining is that I feel like with awareness of your parents’ mortality also comes some effort on my part to make them a priority.

🙁  I am sorry.  My dad has had several heart attacks.  It is very difficult to deal with, but helps us appreciate loved ones, life, and good health.  I am sorry for your troubles!

Big hugs <3 My grandpa is really sick (colon cancer) and probably not going to make it to the wedding. He’s been in and out of the hospital for a while now and getting worse. I’m glad that my uncle moved back here and lives with my grandparents after he graduated from nursing school, because they have him when something happens.
