How about designer ties? Or maybe consider what their hobbies are and get gifts according to that.

Man, tell me about it! I’ve been wondering about this for months. We’re doing the same as you, gifts on a day around the wedding, then albums later.

I’m drawing blanks so I’m going to hope someone else here has some good ideas…

I like the tie idea… but what about getting something engraved? I might do this but I am not sure exactly WHAT I want engraved at this time. Maybe a picture frame, mug, locket, or even nice cuff links! I hope this idea helps!

We got our Fathers engraved swiss army knives from things remembered. It was the only thing that I could see both of them using. It sounds cheesy but they actually came out really nice and look a lot nice than you would expect from things remembered!

we did gift certificates for dads (and also necklaces for moms). i know it’s boring, but i also know they will use them. hubby’s dad got one for golf, and my dad got one for a nice restaurant on the beach.

shopping for dads is so hard. what are their hobbies? are they golfers? into clothes/accessories? music lovers? nature lovers? i’d try to tailor something to their interests…and if the two dads have really different interests, don’t feel like you have to buy two of the same gift.

I got all the guys cufflinks…my dad’s say “Father of the Bride”….you can get them on Ebay for a dollar or two a pair. I bought them for “Groom” and “Best Man” too….we are having no groomsmen. I bought 2 pair for the ringbearers but they have Spiderman on them. That was just my “wear in the wedding” gift…i also got everyone else another gift….i love giving gifts (or shall i say i love shopping for them). I got my parents a gift certificate for dinner cruise….they have everything and that was the only thing i could figure out that they could use that they didn’t already have.

@Kanebaby:

That is a cute idea. I think I may give the gift of cufflinks to my father as well as a smaller gift such as a restaurant gift certificate.  Spiderman links… cute! lol

i suited my father with his accessories like pocket square and tie before the wedding. and as our gift on the wedding day, i got my parents a town car livery service, so they could be chauffered around and not worry about getting home after the wedding and drinking, etc.  we  got my in-laws a hotel for the night of the wedding as they didn’t even want to go home.

What about a nice watch for the fathers?  When you’re getting each of the moms a really nice necklace, it seems a little off to just get gift certificates, cuff links, a tie, etc for the dads.
