I need some advice on parent gifts. FI’s parents are married, mine are divorced. So I want something for his parents as a couple, but mine individually. We were thinking tickets to something for his parents, but i am totally lost for my parents. Is the gift supposed to be wedding-related, like a wedding photo in a frame? seems sort of selfish. Or just a normal gift? Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

I’ve known what I’m getting my (bachelor) father for years. We both have degrees from the same school and I’ve always loved this photo of a daddy and baby gator: http://www.johnmoranphoto.com/fauna_003.html I’ll be framing it and giving it to him. I thought this was perfect because its something that he and I share so it’ll be special (and not just a picture of me)

We are going to get them all really beautiful silver frames. They can put a photo of the wedding in it later.

Well I am doing something separate for my parents too. For my mother I’m getting her this frame from exclusivelyweddings.com that says “a mother holds her daughters hand for a while but holds her heart forever” and I’m gonna put a pic of us when I was little in it. I’m still stuck on my step father though.

We, too, are doing really nice framed photos of us for our parents.

We decided to get both my parents and his parents a GPS, which turned out to be the best gift since my mom is terrible with directions and his parents could use it the week following the wedding (since the wedding was out of town for them).

Is it bad to say that I haven’t even begun to think about gifts for the parents???
