@mayflowerbride13:  I don’t think so, it would be really cool to celebrate a succesful marriage that has lasted for so long at the same time as celebrating the start of a new one coming Smile I think it would be appropriate, and it’s your shower, you can do anything you want Laughing

@mayflowerbride13:  I think it would be stealing your thunder and hers. I love the idea of asking your mom if she wants one and plan one. It could even be the same day. But if you do it, do it right and not as a seperate event.

Our 25th anniversary is only a couple of years away, and personally, if I ever do a vow renewal (a) I wouldn’t want it to be a surprise, because vows are serious things; and (b) I’d want my own guest list – i.e. my friends, not my daughters’ friends. (EDIT: But I just saw you say your mom “would eat it up” so maybe disregard this).

Also, it’s a surprise, how does that get your Dad off the hook? He should do something on or by the 15th.

Another idea is something smaller like a “happy 25th anniversary” cake.
