We’ll be gifting both sets of parents with a gift certificate to BnBfinder.com. It’s a service that sells gift certificates that can be used at hundreds of B&B’s all over the country. Neither set of parents ever really get away so we think it would be nice to treat them to a mini vacay after our wedding. They’ve helped us out a lot (not just for the wedding but life in general) and they really deserve some time away. After they decide when and where they’re going, we plan to call ahead and arrange to pay for a nice dinner for them.

It’s definitely pricey but when we think about how much they’ve done for us all of our lives, our gift is really nothing in comparison.

Coming from Omaha, I would def recommend the steaks.  They have some of the best beef in the country. Once in a while they have bison steaks that are wonderful and the filets are unbeatable.  I drive all the way across town to get their steaks.

@debaby01: If you’re really thinking about doing it, I would suggest checking out the site to see what B&B’s they have in your area and base your certificate amount on those Inns. We live in Upstate, NY, not far from the Vermont border, so we assume our parents will more than likely redeem their gc’s there. We’re gifting them each with a $250 gift certificate which will come close to covering 2 nights at the majority of the B&B’s we’ve looked into. We figure dinner at a nice restaurant will cost around $75 or so we’re going to be spending a little more than $300 for each set of parents.

Im confused, my parents arent helping me with much, my mom is making my veil and garter and my dad is flying in from fl and renting a tux. THATS IT! 🙁 So I mean I can get them something small. But then when it comes to FH’s parents, they have given us a generous amount and FH was thinking of getting them a 42″ tv for their basement. I think its an odd thank you gift lol but whatever. I just dont know what Id get my parents.

I am getting the same thing for both parents (frames) even though my parents are helping more. BUT I will give them, my parents something else before or after the wedding too. I was thinking a gift certificate to a restaurant they REALLY like!

We got my parents a B&B gift certificate.  We got his parents Omaha Steaks meals (they are divorced and have 4 other kids in varying states of independence.)  And it’s funny since those are the two links here.

We got each parent a personalized picture frame from personalizationmall.com. We were able to write a message at the bottom to each one and then at the top it has our names and the wedding date. We will put an engagement picture in it for now and then give them a wedding picture to swap it out after we get them back.

I plan on giving my parents a gift after the wedding. I want to get them something big like a new t.v, money or possibly a honeymoon beacause they never had one. And i do not plan on giving my fiances parents anything. My parents have helped out allot not only financially but, with all the diy projects. This wedding could not have came together without their help. My fiance’s parents have not helped with anything or put a penny towards it and i don’t think they plan on it due to the fact it is only a month away and they haven’t offered anything.
