@futuremrsgo:  Well, for both of us, it’s just our mom’s. They met last September when my mom was visiting, so we took them out for dinner.

For some reason, and I have no idea why, my Future Mother-In-Law called me by my FI’s ex-wife’s name twice that night! She’s never done that before, and she’s never done it since.

Our parents are meeting next Saturday for the first time. I’m nervous and worried. Glad you posted this so I can just piggy back and read!

Ohhhhhhhhh golly girl. I could tell you I was EXTREMELY nervous for my parents to meet his.  My parents have been divorced, and married, three times to each other. His parents have been married for 29 years or so and are extremely religous, my family not so much. So I was nervous for that difference in between them. Also, my dad is insanely immature. He thinks he is 18 I swear. He is the person at Thanksgiving who says extremely awkward/inappropriate things that no one needs to hear. My family met his for the first time at FI’s college graduation last year. It went fairly well, thankfully. They didn’t spend much time together so I don’t think my family had time to open up the crazy on FI’s parents. I am waiting for my graduation for this glorious event of crazy-explosion to happen because FI’s family is hosting my family for a post-grad party at their house…. dun dun dun! Should be….interesting…

Our families are crazy similar. We booked a table at the local pub, siblings/partners came along. We had a great night. Actually about to book another dinner as my fellas folks want to have another dinner date.

@Milo:  who knows? Her brother was quite ill so she had a lot on her mind I imagine. Fiance has been divorced for 15 years so I think it was just a moment of absent mindedness. No harm done and it didn’t offend me.
