what did you give your parents as their weddings gifts?
i want to give them something really special, in apprecation for not only everything they have done for me throughout my life, but for giving me my dream wedding.
unfortunately they are hard to buy for in the best of circumstances… help?
ETA: i don’t want to give them anything like a picture frame, or anything that you might see on pinterest “hanky for your happy tears.” i’m just struggling with this.

Oh man, I struggled with this too. My Mom and Mother-In-Law are not the type at all to receive the cutesy handkerchief or bracelet.
We gave each family this sign with an engraving of the family surname on it that they hung in their houses. Also each pearent got a card where we each wrote a super long heartfelt message.

Have you thought of gifting an experience? Something like inviting them over for a special homemade dinner or going out to a nice restaurant with your husband and then footing the bill comes to mind for me. At either of those occasions, you could totally express your appreciation for them by looking through photos and reminiscing. Just a thought! 🙂 (I also second the idea of heartfelt cards!)

We gave my parents a tree for their yard, and had the nursery deliver and plant it where my parents requested. We have loved watching it grow.

My sister and her boyfriend gifted our and his parents experiences for Christmas. One was a murder mystery dinner and the other was a wine and painting class.
For mother’s and father’s day this year I sent rescue gifts on their behalf at https://gifts.rescue.org. Not sure if its apporpriate for a wedding gift, probably depends on the kind of people that they are. My parents loved it.
