I’m torn between getting full highlights or partial for my wedding day. My hair will be up in a loose, casual “thing” on the lower part of the back of my head. I’m wearing a veil for the ceremony, but I’m going to take it off for the reception. I’ve never gotten full highlights before. Do I need to? Will it look weird if part of my hair is darker underneath? (I have dark brown hair).
Help me decide! My hair will be something like in the pictures.

A partial really only gives you streaks on the top layers of hair. If you have your hair up, it’ll be really obvious that the hair color is only on the top. Definitely get full highlights.

Full! I got my highlights done a week before the wedding. I LOVED them and they look great in pictures.
I was going to try to find a good picture to post but it might be easier to just post the slideshow with some of our pictures. There are lots of my hair!

I’m wearing something very, very similar to that for my wedding, and just got partial highlights put in the other night. Because my stylist knows that that is the style (just had my trial a couple of weeks ago), she put some partial highlights in under the very top layer / on the sides so that it will look more natural when it’s pulled back.
I think it depends on how much variance in color / highlighting you want on your hair too. But, if you get partial, I would bring pictures of those styles so your stylist knows what you plan to do with your hair, and can place the highlights accordingly.
