Most of our wedding party know each other but some are friends from our childhood. I was thinking maybe we should host a little get together so everyone can meet each other before the wedding happenings begin. I am thinking super casual, maybe just cocktails at our house one evening. Has anyone else done this? Any suggestions?
I am also thinking it will be a good time to make sure everyone has each others contact information and details to answer any questions they might get from our guests.

Miss Gardenia had a "get to know you’re wedding party" BBQ. I think it’s a great idea and a nice way for everyone to meet before the rehearsal.

I am actually going to one tomorrow for my friend’s wedding that I am in a month before mine. It should be nice even though I know most of the people, just to hang out and everything. I’ll let you know how it goes!

We’re doing a BBQ at my aunt and uncle’s farm (complete with floating dock and pond) on the Thursday night before our Saturday wedding. We’ve also invited all of our family, including those out of towners who may be out of down. I’m going to bring along huge pitchers of sangria and a whiffle ball set to break the ice.

Our DJ actually made this suggest to do a get together or two prior to the wedding to allow everyone to get to know each other. It makes for a smoother day of. We’re going to take him up on his advice and have a spring time bbq/picnic next month, we were thinking of extending the invite to our photographer, dj and vendors we will work with personally also so that they can get to know us and we know them.
So i definitely think its a GREAT idea.
