After our reception, we will be having a party at a local brewery. It will be mostly our friends (so 20s-30s), but my parents, aunts/uncles and some older cousins will be there as well. I am trying to put together a song list for when the band is on breaks. Do you think Michael Jackson or Prince would be offensive to anyone? I personally love them both, but I know others (ie, my Fiance and mom) don’t care for them at all. We are having a Red Dirt Country band so I wanted to mix in a little pop-music for dancing. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why would it be offensive? I don’t know how the music would fit with a brewery, but that’s your call.

Some people just really don’t like them. Dunno why. I’m not trying to make the music fit the location…it’s just a place we rented for the entire night to have a party and I wanted a mix of music rather than just Red Dirt.

we’re definitely having mj and prince at our actual wedding reception, so i def think it’s appropriate! but if your fi doesn’t like it–is there other pop he’d be more into? it took my fi awhile to understand that all the music didn’t have to be our favorites, which are different than music that gets people dancing…but i wouldnt play anything my fi hated either…
