Hi Bees,
I’d done a search for this but the posts I was finding were 5-7 years old. Wondering who out there may have done pashminas or scarves or blankets as favors at their wedding?
If so:
1) Did you do them literally as favors and get one for each guest? Or just have a basket of them for people who were actually cold to grab?
2) If the latter, how did you determine how many to have?
3) Any recs on where to find some not too expensive ones?
4) Show me yours!
Thanks!

Nothing to add but i’d be super into a blanket as a favor cause i’m pretty much always cold. Of course, I could be the minority on that.

I’m going to second slomotion because I would be super excited about getting a pashmina or blanket! 🙂 🙂

No experience with this but I would love to receive a blanket for a wedding favor. But maybe not with the bride & groom’s details all big on one side of it, if that’s what you’re considering doing. Maybe still. I’d love a blanket no matter what, but if it had your names on it I wouldn’t keep it out when company is over.

fleurbee : Okay yes. Agree with her.
Just a plain blanket in the wedding colors would be great.

slomotion : sweatergal007 : Hah, me too! Though November weather is so unpredictable. It can be in the 80s or in the 40s (FWIW, we visited our outdoor venue on the day in 2016 and it was a frigid 45 with wind). So I’m afraid to go in too deep O.O
fleurbee : Absolutely not! A tasteful paper tag attached will suffice. I want something people would reuse!

I haven’t worked out quantities yet but we’ll be putting furry blankets in baskets to grab for our outdoor ceremony. I’m curious how others worked out how many to buy.

victoriad : Definitely looking for feedback on this. Some of the previous posts I’d seen mentioned giving them as favors to their female guests (makes sense, but then I’m at a loss for making the dudes “whole.”) But that might yield a rough estimate, since I think the vast majority of people who would reach for them would be female. And perhaps…older? My dad will go out in 30 degree weather in shirt sleeves but he will thrown on a scarf and be happy.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A few years ago I purchase about 300 pashminas for a gala I was working on. I got them from here. They were great and I had to return some (I can’t remember why) and the customer service was great too.

libellules : tbh I might need to do one for every single person, because we’re not talking 30 degrees, we’re talking 14. But people will already have coats & gloves and won’t necessarily want one. I dunno! I’d hate to buy $1000 worth of blankets and only a third get used.

lulubloom : Thank you! I’ve been looking there. I’m hemming and hawing between solid color pashminas, and some kind of plaid blanket scarf, and I’m not crazy about their blanket scarf options. Have seen some fleece blankets on pinterest and I have no idea where people get those. But I’m glad to hear that company is reliable!
victoriad : That’s pretty cold! That is what Fiance said. Guys will already have jackets. And my sisters also are of the opinion that ladies would really enjoy this favor, but that’s it. I’m also afraid to spend $$$ to have people not use them or take them :/

No experiences, but I know as a guest I would love one!

I was thinking about doing this also, but I was just going to buy one for every guest. If there are any extra, I would just donate them to a local shelter. I would love suggestions on where to buy them!

mrsg2018 : Are you looking to do pashminas, or blanket scarves, or blankets?
I like your shelter idea! I may go this route, but of course I’m eyeing $15 blanket scarves instead of $3-5 pashminas because I’m ridiculous O.O

libellules : I am leaning towards pashminas because of the cost, but I feel like they aren’t as neutral as blankets are. I can’t quite make up my mind!
